Joe Neri, President and Chief Executive Officer
As IFF’s president and chief executive officer, Joe Neri leads a staff of over 90 highly dedicated and skilled loan officers, project managers, owners representatives, developers, researchers, and other professionals. After joining IFF in 1997, Neri created the Real Estate Services and Research divisions. Under his leadership, IFF’s loan portfolio grew over 140 percent in 3 ½ years and expanded into five states. From 2008 to 2011, as executive vice president, Neri oversaw the further growth of IFF’s loan portfolio to over $160 million and directed over $196 million in credit-enhanced charter financings.
Before joining IFF, Neri was associate director of The Resurrection Project, a nationally recognized Chicago community development corporation that he helped to create. Neri serves on the boards of the Housing Partnership Network and Acción Chicago. He also sits on the Community Advisory Committee of the St. Louis Federal Reserve. Neri holds a master’s degree in city planning from University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor’s degree in urban affairs from Grinnell College.
Matt Roth, Chief Operating Officer
Matt Roth joined IFF in November 2013 as chief operating officer, leading and managing our business and operating units and helping with our expansion throughout the entire Midwest. Previously, he served as president and CEO of Generations Community Bancorp, raising over $1 million in seed capital to launch a bank that would have served African American and economically-distressed communities on Chicago’s South Side. Roth began his career in 1987 at Harris Bank, where he opened branches in low-moderate income Latino communities and created a bilingual call center and Spanish language website. Roth holds a master’s degree in English literature from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree from the Ross School of Business Administration at the University of Michigan.
Lloyd Shields, Chief Financial Officer
Lloyd Shields joined IFF in 2010. His responsibilities include overseeing IFF’s accounting and internal controls, risk management, investor relations, and capital raising. Prior to joining IFF, Mr. Shields worked at JPMorgan Chase for 34 years, where he served in a variety of financial and organizational profitability reporting capacities. In his most recent position there, Shields served as the Chief Financial Officer of JPMorgan Chase’s Real Estate and Security division, where he managed financial control and reporting, including monthly performance measurement, acquisition and disposition valuation, and planning and forecasting. Shields holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in finance and accounting, from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois.
