On July 10, 2024, IFF’s executive director for the Indiana Region, Amandula Anderson, participated in a panel discussion hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago (Chicago Fed) that focused on child care innovations in Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Moderated by Chicago Fed Policy Advisor Susan Longworth, the panel also included MI Tri-Share Senior Program Manager Shannon Garrett, Childcare Resource & Referral of Northwest Iowa Regional Director Mary Janssen, and Carole Robertson Center CEO Bela Moté. Among the topics discussed during the session—which was part of a half-day conference exploring challenges facing the child care industry, working parents, and employers—were the dynamics of the child care workforce, what opportunities exist to scale solutions in the sector, the role of data in the early childhood education ecosystem, and more.
For those who were unable to watch the discussion live, a recording of the session is available here or by clicking the video thumbnail above, and we’ve included several photos from the event below.
