First New Affordable Housing in Over 20 Years Coming to Mount Vernon, IL, with Aljunia Springs

Aljunia Springs will be the first new LIHTC multifamily housing development in Mount Vernon in over 20 years. The project was awarded 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits in June 2026. Aljunia Springs will provide 28 units of family-focused and accessible housing to the community. The development will be built on a single site, with 10 fully accessible units on the ground floor.
