The CDFI Fund in September awarded $202.9 million to 303 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) though FY2018. The CDFI Program and Native American CDFI Assistance Program award winners operate in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The funds will assist CDFIs in their missions to invest in low-income communities.
The CDFI Fund was created in 1994 by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to support community development lenders and investors.
This year IFF received over $3.5 million from the CDFI Fund. A breakdown of the funds is below.
- $1,125,000 in Financial Assistance
- $2,000,000 in Healthy Food Financing Initiative Financial Assistance
- $400,000 in Disability Funds Financial Assistance
