Longtime IFF customer Heartland Health Centers will become more accessible to residents looking for affordable health care with the opening of a new space in Chicago’s Albany Park. The location will have eight exam rooms and allow for 3,780 new patient visits in an area where an estimated 35,000 people lack a health care provider.
Heartland Health Centers, which already has 110 full-time and 37 part-time employees, plans to add 17 jobs through the new facility. IFF’s $500,000 loan will pay for leasehold improvements at the site, including new windows, carpentry, and HVAC and plumbing systems.
Heartland Health Centers is a nonprofit federally qualified health center. Through four locations in the city, three co-located clinics at partner behavioral health centers, and six school-based health centers, Heartland Health Centers provides much-needed quality care in underserved areas.
