Sojourner Family Peace Center opening draws Milwaukee officials, supporters

On February 4, community leaders and members of the public gathered at Sojourner Family Peace Center for its grand opening. In addition to Sojourner Executive Director Carmen Pitre, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Assistant Police Chief James Harpole, and District Attorney John Chrisholm spoke at the event.

The facility is the nation’s most comprehensive center to help domestic violence victims and their children, housing partner organizations under one roof, including law enforcement, legal, health and educational support services. IFF supported the $22.3 million project by providing $10 million in new markets tax credits. See more photos on Facebook. Read the release here.
